Jenn Edwards

Jenn has been teaching dance to a wide range of ages and abilities for a decade. Studio engagements include The Shadbolt Centre for the Arts, Xba Dance Co, The School of Music and Dance, iDance and ArtSpace. While living in Berlin she taught a series of Movement and Musicality workshops at Dock 11 with live music from Zane Barratt, and in 2014 the pair had the privilege of bringing this format to Garage Performing Arts Centre in Corfu, Greece. As of December 2016, Jenn is also a 200-hour certified Hatha yoga teacher (Yoga Alliance RYT), and currently teaches drop-in yoga, barre and fitness classes around Toronto. 


Jenn's teaching is intuitive, musical and fuelled by a passion for fluid yet rigorous movement. Expect evocative music, a challenging pace, and a full body and brain workout. Jenn's classes draw from modern dance techniques such as Limon and Cunningham, as well as the contact improvisation teachings of Peter Bingham, the release-based style of Rob Kitsos and the comprehensive ballet principles taught to her by Heidi Zolti and Marla Eist. Having been a late starter herself, Jenn connects with adult beginners and strikes a balance between foundational technique and expressive, fulfilling movement.
